Aamir Khan’s daughter in Dangal is his Secret Superstar, singer Monali Thakur to play herself

Monali’s last film as an actress was Nagesh Kukunoor’s Lakshmi where she played the lead role. The National Award-winning singer was also seen in a small cameo in Aamir Khan’s PK. She, however, doesn’t play the lead in Secret Superstar. ” The lead actress for the movie has been chosen from the team of Dangal. One of Aamir’s younger daughters in Dangal, who is 15-year-old, will play the lead in Secret Superstar.”

When we met Monali at Asha Bhosle’s musical tribute, we asked her if she was indeed doing a role in Secret Superstar. And Monali quickly answered, “No comments.”

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan kickstarted work on Secret Superstar at the beginning of this month. The movie marks the directorial debut of Aamir Khan’s former manager Advait Chandan and is based on the life of a child who aspires to be a singer. Aamir interestingly will neither be playing the lead nor a cameo in the film. It’s being billed as an extended guest appearance for which the actor has been busy shooting all this while.
