Lucknow: To provide adequate facilities for maternal and child care in the city, eight new maternity hospitals and their wings with cumulative 770 beds have been readied to start taking in patients from September. Creating employment opportunity for 43,000 people, online applications and registrations for the same will begin by August-end.
Lokbandhu Rajnarayan Sanyukt hospital on
Kanpur Road has 300 beds, Bal Aivam Mahila Sanyukt hospital in
Gomtinagar has 200 beds, Sankyukt hospital in
Thakurganj has 100 beds,
Maternity Home in
Chinhat has 50 beds.
Besides, 30-bedded maternity hospitals will come up in Mohanlalganj, Malihabad and Nagram.
"We will begin appointment by August-end through the online mode. Around 5,000 doctors, 3,000 nurses, 2,900 basic women health workers,10,000 Asha workers, 15,000 ward boys and other paramedical staff will be appointed," said
Ravidas Mehrotra, state minister for family, mother and child welfare.
Additionally, two neonatal ICUs with ventilator facilities will be set up at
RML Hospital and
Lokbandhu Hospital by September 30.
