The AP government has appointed Komati Jayaram as its special representative in North America.Jayaram, an NRI activist based in the USA, will hold the office for two years.

Hyderabad: The AP government has appointed Komati Jayaram as its special representative in North America. Jayaram, an NRI activist based in the USA, will hold the office for two years. He will get a monthly salary and perks of about Rs 1.10 lakh. He will also serve as the advisor to the state government.
As special representative, Jayaram will liaise, coordinate, facilitate, and assist government officials and dignitaries of Andhra Pradesh visiting North America.
He will also mobilise financial, technical and human resources from North America for economic, social, cultural and tourism development in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, Jayaram served as the president of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA). Hailing from Krishna district, Jayaram joined the Telugu Desam Party in 2004.
Jayaram's father, Komati Bhaskar Rao, a Congress leader, represented Mylavaram assembly constituency in 1989.
