Italy registered its first win over Spain at the European Championship since it was defeated comprehensively by the Spaniards 4-0 in the 2012 final. The result also ended Spain’s unprecedented success in the Euro’s following their title wins in 2008 and 2012.
Defeat against the old rivals meant end of La Roja’s Euro campaign. Exit from the tournament left players and its fans dejected and sad.
Sergio Ramos, Spain’s captain took to Facebook to thank his fans for their support and with their faith, his team is surely going to improve it’s performance in the time to come.
“When things go right, we say thank you. When things go wrong, we say THANK YOU,” said Ramos.
“During my career victories have given me a lot but defeats have taught me even more. Even if it hurts now, we’ll come back. Thank you all, now and always #VamosEspaña” added the Real Madrid defender.
