KOLKATA: Tata-owned Infiniti Retail, which owns the Croma chain of consumer electronics stores, has lost one of its senior executive to the country's largest white goods maker, LG Electronics India.

Rahul Tayal, who was head of Croma's buying, merchandising, logistics and store design, has quit moving to Korean major LG as its head of modern trade business. Croma has internally promoted Venu Gopal in place of Tayal.

When contacted, Infiniti Retail CEO Avijit Mitra confirmed that Tayal, one of the founding members of team Croma, has decided to move on due to family reasons and pursue an alternate opportunity in New Delhi.

He said Gopal has been made the new head of buying due to his track record over twenty plus years and in line with the company's commitment to develop internal talent. LG India did not respond to an email sent on Tayal's appointment.
