BENGALURU: Women’s fashion and lifestyle portal Styletag has appointed Michael Adnani as chief executive officer. Adnani joins the Bengaluru-based company from Flipkart, where he was vice president of the commerce platform and headed strategic brand alliances.

Adnani, who quit Flipkart in October last year, will spearhead strategy, marketing, products and technology, as well as lead fundraising rounds. “Adnani brings to Styletag an in-depth knowledge of the ecommerce sector, as well as a wealth of experience from other organisations,” Sanjay Shroff, founder of Styletag, told ET.

“His exposure to the Indian market and experience in the Bay Area will bring in fresh ideas and perspective to push the brand towards rapid acceleration, expansion and consolidation." The startup is looking to hire more such seasoned executives at the Csuite level, Shroff said.

Adnani holds over 30 years of experience in retail and ecommerce, merchandising, management, marketing and sales from his earlier association with Flipkart, Sears Holdings, Nextag, Overstock, and other companies. “As the CEO of Styletag, I look forward to leveraging the strengths of the company and turning them into winning strategies to cement the brand’s position as a domain leader,” said Adnani.
