Chandigarh: At a time when Jats are seeking reservation in government jobs, freedom fighters have sought priority in government jobs for their second generation (grandsons and granddaughters).
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Akhil Bhartiya Swatantrata Senani Evm Uttradhikari Sanyukat Sangathan general secretary Dharamvir Paliwal said that just 35 to 40 freedom fighters were alive in Haryana, out of a total 4,000 apart from their 250 widows.

"We want the government to give benefit to each of the families of the freedom fighters in recruitment for government jobs or administration in educational institutions. Sons or daughters of freedom fighters have already crossed the age for the government jobs, but now the government can give priority to their grandsons or granddaughters for the same," said Paliwal.
