Varanasi Municipal Corporation seeks Smart City suggestions

VARANASI: After failing to get included in the first list of cities selected for the Smart City mission of Government of India in 2015, the Varanasi Municipal Corporation, on Sunday, sought suggestions from people during a workshop.

Mayor Ram Gopal Mohaley and municipal commissioner SP Shahi held a workshop where people from almost all sectors were invited.

The gathering was divided in six teams and were asked to give their proposals. In second session the teams gave presentation on their proposals. Mohaley and Shahi informed that these ideas will be incorporated in compiling a proposal for seeking suggestions and objections from denizens through open forums and also online. They said all these exercises would be completed by June end to finalise the proposal for forwarding it to the ministry of urban development of Government of India.
