Vin Diesel wants Justin Lin to helm final ‘Fast and Furious’ movie

When asked if Justin will direct the finale, Diesel said, “I’m going to bring him back. Whenever we had a day off-even on Thanksgiving, his favorite holiday-it was Justin and me working on how far we could take it. Success comes from 10 years of that mentality.”

Lin laughed when asked about Diesel’s remarks.

“Vin says you finish what you started,” the “Star Trek Beyond” director says, “and he’s very persuasive.”

Diesel is currently filming “Fast and Furious 8” with Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Elsa Pataky, Lucas Black, The Rock, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron.

Directed by “Straight Outta Compton” director F Gary Gray, “Fast 8” will be released in the US on April 14, 2017.

“Fast 8” will be followed by a ninth film to be released on April 19, 2019 and a tenth film planned for an April 2, 2021 release.

Universal also plans both “Fast and Furious” spin-offs and prequels.
