Coming soon: Lounges offering you WiFi connection, food and a lot more at Indian railway stations

The railway ministry has entrusted IRCTC with the task of setting up these lounges in as many as 49 stations across the country. And there are so many other facilities to be offered.

No matter how much you try to ignore, but Indian Railways is making the lives of travellers easier by the day. According to recent media reports, the Ministry of Railways has entrusted Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) with the task of setting up new executive lounges 49 stations across the country. These executive lounges would be equipped with all sorts of modern facilities at a charge. Some of the main services offered in these lounges include WiFi connection, food and beverage, washing and changing facilities, and concierge services for pre-departure and post-arrival assistance to passengers of all classes of travel. Railway passengers willing to avail these services would require to show their photo ID proofs and valid train tickets.

As of now, these executive lounges already exist in the New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra stations. Built in modern architectural styles, complete with all the above-mentioned facilities in place, these lounges are available at reasonable prices. Charges for the one at New Delhi starts at Rs 150 and for the first two hours and Rs 50 for every hour thereafter. While the charges at Jaipur and Agra stations start from Rs 100 for the first two hours, followed by Rs 50 per hour after that.
