Bengaluru: Practo Technologies Pvt. Ltd, India’s largest doctor aggregation platform, has appointed former Inmobi executive Manish Dugar as its global chief financial officer, the company said in a statement on Sunday.

Besides India, Practo has entered Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brazil, becoming one of the few homegrown consumer Internet startups to capitalize on some of the high-growth, but largely untapped global markets.

Dugar, who was earlier chief financial officer at Inmobi, will be in charge of Practo’s financial, legal and regulatory operation.

“His (Manish’s) deep domain experience and proven financial leadership in profitable, publicly traded firms as well as high growth technology companies will be critical as Practo continues to rapidly move towards realizing profitability by next year. He will also be instrumental in preparing the organizing to rapidly scale our various businesses across the diverse geographies that Practo is in," Shashank ND, founder and chief executive at Practo, said in a statement.

Dugar will be a part of the company’s leadership team. He took charge on 15 April, the statement said.

Practo’s earlier notable hires include former Hike executive Anshumani Ruddra and former Matrix Partners executive Tarun Bhambra.

While Ruddra will build products that will help healthcare professionals on Practo connect and communicate, Bhambra will lead the drive to digitise prescriptions, the company had said last July while announcing the appointments.

Practo, the best-funded homegrown healthcare technology start-up, is maximizing its use cases by adding a bunch of offerings apart from its doctor discovery service, Mint reported on 25 April.

The company has introduced doctor consultation and medicine delivery, started providing information, and even entered the beauty and wellness segment.

Practo claims to have 200,000 doctors, 10,000 hospitals, 8,000 diagnostic centres and 4,000 wellness and fitness centres on its platform, besides facilitating 10-12 million monthly searches.
