As it begins an organisational restructuring, Lycos (formerly Ybrant Digital) has set up Brightcom, a new 100 per cent arm, to give a focused approach to its digital marketing business.
Gali Arnon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the new entity. “Currently, the General Manager of the advertising division of LYCOS, Ybrant Digital, she is a natural choice for the new role,” Suresh Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Lycos, told BusinessLine .
He said the market size that the new entity can address is about 30 per cent of the $150-billion digital marketing business globally.
“Brightcom brings together the legacy of ‘Ybrant Digital’ alongside the ‘Brightcom’ Media initiative. This combines data-driven technology together with the company’s strong bonds with advertisers and publishers, all in one consolidated platform,” he said.
The firm, which has about 450 employees, has carved out the new entity with 100 people working for it.
He said the group was in the process of reorganising itself to simplify the way LYCOS interacted with its customers, partners, investors and the world at large.
“This move will facilitate the organisation in becoming more nimble and responsive. The formation of the new entity is in line with the reorganisation,” he said.
