The Jungle Book earns Rs. 40.19 cr in three days of its release

Disney’s live-action adventure, The Jungle Book directed by Jon Favreau, has collected a whopping Rs 40 crore in its opening weekend.

Disney’s live-action adventure, The Jungle Book directed by Jon Favreau, has collected a whopping Rs 40 crore in its opening thus becoming the second biggest opening weekend in India after Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Airlift’.

The film had minted Rs. 10.09 cr. at the box office on first day and it saw a growth of 33.89% growth on Saturday (April 9) over Friday (April 8) and 64.42% growth on Sunday (April 10) over Friday.

The English version of the film, which has 48 per cent contribution in the box office collection, has Idris Elba voicing Shere Khan. The film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray and Lupita Nyong’o.

Thanks to a good word of mouth the film’s box office collections have been growing each day.

Festive offer

The Jungle Book is all set to cross Rs 50 cr mark on weekdays itself. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the numbers of the box office collections.

Viewers loved each and every single frame of the movie and they were all praises for Neel Sethi, the child actor who played Mowgli and were moved by the never-before-seen special effects.

In the Hindi version, Priyanka Chopra voices Kaa, the python, Irrfan Khan has lent his voice to the friendly bear Baloo, Shefali Shah has dubbed for Raksha, the wolf and veteran actor Om Puri has lent his voice to Bagheera, the Black Panther. Nana Patekar has once again lent his voice to Shere Khan, which he had dubbed for the fearsome tiger in the animated series, Jungle Book: The Adventures of Mowgli, that was aired on Doordarshan in the early 90s.
