NEW DELHI: Flipkart, the country's biggest e-commerce company, became the first Indian app to cross the 50 million installs landmark on Google Android Play Store, the company said in a statement. The company reached the number in the first week of February 2016.

A SimilarWeb report had earlier ranked Flipkart as the leading shopping app with 47 percent of the share of visits. The combined traffic share of Flipkart and Myntra stood at 63 percent while Amazon was in the third position with 15.86 percent followed by Snapdeal with 13.84 percent, said the SimilarWeb report.

The Indian e-commerce market is overwhelmingly mobile-led with around 70 percent of traffic coming from mobile devices. The 2016 Morgan Stanley report expects internet penetration to double by 2020 and the number of total online shoppers to reach the 320 million mark by the same year.
