Phase II to generate 50,000 IT jobs

Kochi: In the second phase, around 47 lakh sq ft would be offered for IT use (besides other social infrastructure). The second phase, which is scheduled to be completed in the next three years, would generate around 50,000 to 70,000 IT jobs.
Sands Infra, the IT wing of LuLu Group; Holiday Group; Prestige Group; Gems International School; Kochi-based Elton Technologies and Bengaluru-based Marrattu Projects Private Ltd are the firms which would construct IT space in the second phase.
The single window clearance committee which met on Tuesday has given its clearance for the projects by Prestige Group, Sands Infra and Marrattu Projects Pvt Ltd. tnn
"The tower constructed by Sands Infra will be one of tallest IT buildings in India. Besides three basements and ground floor, the tower will have 35 floors. Of the total 41.9 sq ft built-up area, 18 lakh sq ft will be earmarked for IT use. There will be parking facilities for 4,588 cars. The tower will be coming up in 12.5 acres,'' an official said. Once the tower is completed, at least 22,000 IT jobs are expected to be generated.
The tower by Marrattu, to be constructed in 3.5 acres, will have 5 lakh sq ft. It will generate around 3,000 IT jobs on completion. The Prestige Group's project coming up in 5.5 acres has 10.5 lakh sq ft for IT use. The employment generation is put at 5,000 IT jobs.
