App monetisation platform Pokkt hires Dina D'Souza to drive sales

Pokkt.com, which provides an alternative mobile video advertising and monetisation platform for app developers, has appointed former 9X Media executive Dina D'Souza as vice president of sales and revenue strategy.

Dina will drive the company's global advertising revenue and report to Pokkt CEO Rohit Sharma, it said in a press statement.

"The team (at Pokkt) has successfully created a new and differentiated video ad product…I look forward to growing Pokkt's footprint across markets and being a part of the team to drive its accelerated growth story," said Dina.

Dina comes with 16 years of experience in the print and digital media space. Most recently, she was senior vice president of digital monetisation at 9X Media. An alumnus of Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Dina has also worked with Microsoft, Yahoo and Bennett, Coleman & Co.

Pokkt, run by Maiden Marketing (India) Pvt Ltd, is a platform that helps digital goods owners to monetise users through an advertiser-funded model. The company enables content publishers to convert non-paying users into paying users, it says. Pokkt provides software development kits (SDKs) to publishers. The SDKs are available on Android, iOS and Windows platforms.

Recently, Pokkt raised $5 million in post-Series A funding from Singapore-based VC firm Segnel Ventures and other investors.

Pokkt also counts Jafco Asia, SingTel Innov8, Jungle Ventures and K Ganesh as backers.
