PhD, MPhil scholars apply for constable jobs

HYDERABAD: In a clear indication of growing unemployment and desperate bid by the unemployed to bag jobs, five Ph D and 11 M Phil scholars have applied for police constable posts, which were announced by the Telangana government recently. The last date for submission of online applications is February 4, while the preliminary written test will be held on April 3.
The Telangana State-Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has said that till now five PhD, 11 M Phil, 16,864 post-graduates, 20,623 engineers, 84,683 graduates, 1,78,917 Intermediate-qualified persons had applied for the 9,281 constable posts.
"So far, 3,28,073 candidates have submitted applications, though the prescribed qualification is Intermediate.
The youth, who are highly qualified, are also eager to join the forces,'' an official note issued by TSLPRB here on Saturday said.
